Queen Mary 2 - NY to England…my first cruise ever.

I absolutely love to travel and to travel while avoiding flying is the absolute best, but you have to cross an ocean…. If you are someone like me, whose childhood road trips also including barfing up all over various mountains, sides of roads, and random boats, you can understand why I’ve waited until well into my 40s to try a cruise. I’ve never been interested in the going in a circle type of cruising, but an option to get from point A to point B interests me. So, of course, I decided that a transatlantic cruise on one of the fanciest cruise lines was the place to start!

I do have my anti-nausea medicines down to a fairly good science - with a few nice prescription options that would be the same things that they offer by the medical team on board, so I’m feeling pretty optimistic.

We booked through vacationstogo.com and got to select a low floor and center to the boat. I upgraded to a balcony, largely just in case I end up laying on the floor and need some fresh air. Fingers crossed that isn’t the case and I’ll get to enjoy some brisk walks along the deck in the North Atlantic in January :)

More to come, but watching videos of what to expect…while we will likely each bring one nice outfit to wear almost all the nights, we pack light…so probably won’t be doing all the gala nights. I have also never been to England - so planning on 4 nights in London before off to our winter plans in Portugal.
