Journey Across the Atlantic on QM2

Sailing on the Queen Mary 2 from NY to England.

What I’m looking forward to onboard - this will post while we are sailing, so I will post more after the trip!

Tea Time Traditions

• Afternoon Tea in the Queens Room, complete with white gloves, scones, and string quartets

Culture & Learning

• Daily lectures from historians, explorers, and authors

• One of the largest libraries on any cruise ship

Evening Entertainment

• West End–style shows and live music

• Ballroom dancing in glittering venues

• Quiet cocktails in lounges with sweeping ocean views - though we aren’t getting the drinks package and thinking more hot tea :)

Daytime Bliss

• Strolls on the wraparound Promenade Deck

• Spa sessions and wellness classes - this will depend largely on how sea sick I am…and I’ve seen some mixed reviews on the spa. I was very interested in the steam room access pass, but instead of an entire trip pass, it seems to be a one time thing :(

• Reading, journaling, or working remotely in serene lounges

Overall

• Productivity: catching up on writing and digital tasks in the morning. I am taking at least 2 manuscripts to finish up on the trip!

• Relaxation: reading and attending enrichment lectures in the afternoon

• Celebration: enjoying elegant dinners and live performances by night

I’m most looking forward to not arriving jet lagged!
