Sicily - Palermo

One month in Sicily will begin January 15! We have been talking about going to Italy for a while and we had some initial plans to head directly from London to Rome, but I will be coming off a 2 week work break. Not a full break but at least communication break, as we are taking a transatlantic cruise and then going to London (my first time). Based on this, we thought a one month spot would be better mid Jan-mid Feb and Palermo is warmer than Rome!

Neither of us have been in the Southern parts of Italy. When we were planning our booking, we have a few musts in the location arena. 1. Must be close to a market (ideally a farmers market). 2. Walkable (to things we want to do/see). 3. Quiet(er). 4. View (Ocean, if available).

We narrowed it down to a few neighborhoods, but wanted to be outside the main tourist area. Politeama-Libertà neighborhood fit the bill and we have an AirBNB for the month.
