The Hague Netherlands

Den Haag contains one of my favorite museums in Holland - Mauritshuis. It is small enough to do easily in a morning and has great lighting to where you can actually really see the art well (and photograph it). Do note, if you are here during peak season, it will be hard to move around…so go early!

The city is extremely walkable - I do recommend hitting up the thrift stores, they are very nice and well organized! For an amazingly yummy lunch - go to SLA. Great bowls with lots of vegan protein.

I have been here previously and a trip out to the sea is a nice break - about 30 minutes by tram. Overall, getting around in the Netherlands is very easy - we downloaded the NS app for trains, but we found that you could simply use tap to pay (both in and out) for trains, subway, busses, and trams throughout the country. It was less expensive than Paris - it was less than 2 euro for a ride and there was some sort of cap on the total charges for the day. Just make sure you have enough power for your phone, because they do occasionally check and you have to tap out to exit. Alternatively, you can use a regular credit card on the tap to pay instead of your electronic wallet on your phone.
